Great starter home, vacation home, or potential B&B if you don't mind roughing it until upgrading. Historic home in beautiful, sleepy mountain community, commutable to Everett & Seattle: 50 min & 1 hour 20 min respectively. Breathtaking 45 degree views of surrounding peaks.
Original shiplap interior with 3 bedrooms. 6 lots with a seasonal stream.
The community is off the power grid, however telephone service was installed two years ago. The best tasting water you'll ever experience from hand pump well.
Sufficient privacy with adequate spacing of neighboring homes.
Ample recreational opportunities including c.c. skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, etc.. Included are pictures of area hikes. Here's some videos of area recreation: Mt. Dickerman: www.youtube.com/watch Gothic Basin: www.youtube.com/watch Vesper Peak telemark video (hikeable in summer): www.youtube.com/watch Aerial of Pilchuck: www.youtube.com/watch Perry Creek Trail (poor resolution): www.youtube.com/watch trails: There is a trail about the equivalent of a block from the cabin which goes up Silver Gulch (this feeds Silver Creek which runs through property), this semi-rough trail leads to an incredible canyon that has a shear wall several thousand feet high and many, many waterfalls. (this is the Mt. in pic behind cabin). Deer Creek Road is 1 mile East, it leads to the Lake Kelcema trailhead (4.5 mi.) & the rough Deer Creek Pass Trail. The lake has tons of blueberries & huckleberries around it in summer. Coal Lake Road is just 4 miles, it leads to it's namesake & the Independence Lake Trail. Next to this road is Perry Creek Road which leads to Perry Creek Falls & Mt. Forgotten - excellent fall color & lots of mushrooms. Mt. Dickerman is 5 miles east, the 4 mile well maintained trail leads to breathtaking vistas of the surrounding Cascades, Glacier Peak & Mt. Baker. My absolute favorite hike starts at the Monte Cristo (former ghost town) trailhead (12 mi E), 1 mile up is Gothic Basin which is a 3.7 mile trail that leads to amazing rock formations, alpine tarns & a lake. To the west is another fave, Cutthroat Lakes which terrace down the mountain at high elevation. $174,000 will consider financing oac. Serious inquiries only please.
