This is a primitive farm for a hardy couple. Includes a nice, renovated, shorty school bus with 7' ceiling, skylights, fir paneling, bed-loft, propane fridge, heat and stove, lots of storage, closets, drawers. There is no electricity but community well water is at the door and potential to plumb inside. Cell phone reception is spotty but works 90% of the time. It sits smack center in 20 secluded acres, mostly wooded and wild berry brush, huge garden with well amended soils. Foothills, valley and river views, more with a little tree culling. Toilet is an outhouse with simple composting system. We set up some water collection but mostly for back up if community system fails. There are also natural springs lower down on the land. There's lots of food available year round. Fruit trees and small nut orchard are almost ready to mass produce. Recdently, I picked about 20 lbs. of Oyster Mushrooms out back! There is an extensive trail system, a number of campsites and hidden retreats. It is one mile to the nearest store and bus-stop. 20 miles to Bellingham, 20 miles to alpine hiking trails. There is also a county park visible across the valley with trails to sub-alpine views. This place has been treated as a wildlife sanctuary and comes with eagles, owls, grouse, potential coyotes, cougar, bear, deer, elk...
All this for $200/Month! Same for two as one.
I will help with trail maintenance, pruning, keeping back the berries and major home and road repairs. May be able to kick in $ for larger projects that are improvements to the land. I am looking for motivated Permaculturists/Sustainability Folks who will be an asset to the natural and permacultural systems and encourage innovation, experimentation and artistry. With a little help we will get a showerhouse sauna built this summer.
There is an additional camper on-site that has some propane appliances plus hot water and shower which needs to be plumbed in. Rent of the camper negotiable.
