Best Vegan Food
Okay,

The Voyeur has crap drinks, lousy service, and is full of vain, obnoxious hipsters who won't talk to you unless you're underweight and wearing a sweater vest or something. But seriously, they have the best--the absolute best--vegan and vegetarian food I've ever had in a restaurant. Everything on the menu is vegan or can be made vegan. The sandwiches are amazing. They use thinly-sliced tempe instead of meat for most of the sandwiches, but it just tastes like yum. They make their own salad dressing. I always get the vegan southwest best (tempe, avocado, spicy stuff, etc.) and a salad with homemade tahini dressing. Prices are comparable to other local diners (like $7 for a sandwich and salad). You can also get soup or their legendary garlic fries. They also have more typical sandwiches, like the reuben, and some cutely-named favorites, like the "sloppy hippie." I've never been disappointed by the food, and nobody I know has either. Just be willing to wait a while. The kitchen is small and everything is made from scratch. - Rocky , posted 11/25/07
